Inspiring co-operative enterprise through education

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Co-operative skills for learning, life and work

CETS CPD focuses on showing how the Co-operative model can enhance and support Curriculum for Excellence through interdisciplinary projects. It does this by developing knowledge and understanding of co-ops and why they are important in creating Scottish ethical business which support local communities.

The main areas of curriculum support are Enterprise and the skills agenda as well as Sustainability and Global Citizenship. We are aware that budgets have been cut for CPD and in response to this, CETS can offer a number of no-cost options to support teachers and their students. Below are example of sessions we have already run:

  • Full day event for staff from all over Scotand;
  • Authority wide CPD for education officers (EOs), principal teachers (PTs) and head teachers (HTs), giving an overview of CETS resources and how they can be used in interdisciplinary projects (presentation);
  • Council wide project where CETS can provide group activity for students; and
  • Facilitating joint projects.
